What we did
Creating a Fun, Family Health Programme
Real Nation developed Laya Super Troopers, a child-friendly health homework programme, aimed at 5th & 6th class pupils. The programme is built on 3 core pillars - physical activity, nutrition and wellbeing. Our team created a series of 10 age-appropiate 'challenges' for children to complete based on these pillars, ensuring a holistic approach to heath & wellbeing.
We designed teacher packs with booklets, wall charts, parent letters, and prize kits to make healthy choices engaging. Weekly scratch-off challenges and structured teacher guidance ensure consistency and ease of delivery.
The Challenge
Embedding Healthy Habits in Schools and Homes
Children often miss out on practical health education that extends beyond the classroom. Inspired by Judy Murray’s idea of “PE homework,” Real Nation set out to design a way for children and families to build small, sustainable habits around physical activity, nutrition, and wellbeing, while also meeting WHO/HSE health guidelines.
The outcome / impact
Laya Super Troopers is Ireland’s only Health Homework programme
Reaching over 2,000 schools nationwide. Teachers love its ease, parents value the take-home resources, and children are forming healthy daily habits.
The programme has won national recognition, including the Corporate Social Responsibility Award at the All-Ireland Marketing Awards (2016) and the Excellence in Community Programme Award at the Chambers Ireland Annual CSR Awards (2016). It continues to evolve with fresh digital tools and research. Results show clear benefits across physical activity, nutrition and wellbeing, with the biggest boost seen in how active children are becoming.
